1-1. GENERAL. Consumable materials and equipment
listed in this volume shall be used for corrosion control.
These materials and equipment have been approved
only after extensive testing to prove their ability to
perform properly and effectively without damaging any
of the metallic or nonmetallic materials used in aircraft
or avionics. Only those materials listed in this manual
shall be used for cleaning or corrosion control. Materials
listed in other manuals shall be used only when required
procedures are not covered by this manual. When
approved materials are not available, substitutions
shall only be made by the appropriate Aircraft Controlling
Custodians (ACC) or System Program Manager (SPM).

1-2. PURPOSE. The purpose of this manual is to
provide ordering information for consumable materials
and equipment used to prevent, control, and repair
corrosion damage to aircraft and avionics.

1-3. SCOPE. The material in this manual contains
basic corrosion prevention and corrective maintenance
information to be used at Organizational, Intermediate,
and Depot levels.
